Application
Methyl methacrylate is mainly used as the monomer for polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA, also known as organic glass);
it is also applied in the production of other plastics, coatings and more, serves as an intermediate for the fungicide dimethachlon, and can copolymerize with other vinyl monomers to yield products with diverse properties.
Additionally, it is utilized in manufacturing other resins, adhesives, lubricants, wood impregnants, motor coil impregnant, ion exchange resins, paper glazes, textile printing and dyeing auxiliaries, leather treatment agents, and insulating potting materials, among others.
